When used in large-scale systems, two thirds of the electricity used industrially comes from their operation alone. The widespread pumps and compressed air applications in particular are the focus of transformation due to their high energy consumption worldwide. Losses due to compressed air leaks or inefficient continuous operation of pumps not only cost energy, but also a lot of money.

Manufacturers are driving energy efficiency through smarter control and on-demand use. The conversion to renewable energies enables innovative solutions such as decentralized micro-generation at the consumer. Further increases in efficiency are possible through optimized hydraulics, innovative lubrication systems and space-optimized applications or modular building block systems. Promising sustainability approaches are also found in the drives and the measurement, control and regulation technology used.
