Sustainability in Building Trade

With 75 percent of all construction work, the craft sector generates around 70 percent of sales in the construction industry. More and more carpentry, plumbing, roofing and painting companies are focusing on sustainability. It’s not just about environmental and climate protection measures, fairness and good working conditions in your own company. The building trade is driving the building transition forward by manufacturing long-lasting products, installing climate-friendly technology, promoting regional supply chains, working with sustainable materials and training the skilled workers of tomorrow. From the boiler room to the roof, the construction trade inspires transformation processes in construction in a variety of places and, as a traditional service provider, makes a decisive contribution to climate-positive construction.

The craft sector, with its know-how and capacities, will play a central role in the implementation of the Climate Protection Act in the real estate sector. The construction trade is becoming a crucial player in resource conservation and in the circular economy. Pioneering companies use a clearly communicated orientation towards sustainability to attract trainees and skilled workers from Generation Z and to practically implement the energy and resource transition with them.

The industry includes, for example, the electrical, heating and plumbing trades, carpentry, tiling, painting, glazing, carpentry and roofing companies.
